Send A Smile
TCAPP’s Send a Smile is about letting children with chronic pain know that you care.
Below are individuals with chronic illness that have found hobbies that they can do with their disabilities, and who want to help make others smile. With Send a Smile, you have the opportunity to send a gift to a child that needs to know someone is thinking about them. Along with the gift will be an uplifting letter from TCAPP and the individual that lets them know how much we all care and how proud of them we are – for these children suffering with pediatric pain truly are warriors.
Send a Smile isn’t about generating income for the individuals on our team, but it is also about supporting their hobbies and allowing them the joy of lighting up a child’s face. We are thankful to have individuals with such heart involved with our organization.
*Please allow 7-10 days for your Smile to reach your child!
Shani is 28 years old and has 2 children. She currently lives with Lupus, Fibromyalgia, and Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA). She worked in the health field for 8 years and loved every minute of it but, almost a year ago the doctors told her she shouldn’t work anymore because of her health. She took up knitting and crocheting to keep her busy. This makes her happy because “now I have the chance to make other people happy with things that I make.”
Shani knits hats and makes rice heating packs for TCAPP. The needed donation to send a smile through Shani is $15.
Sarah has had pain for the past 20 years and has just been diagnosed with Chiari Malformation. Since 2012 she has no longer been able to work as a nurse and she enjoys sending “boxes of sunshine” to people who need it. Through the keychains she makes, send a smile to a child who needs it (would be great for older kids and easy for service dogs to pick up). We can also help Sarah by Sending a Smile because she will use any monies donated for chiari surgery.
The needed donation to Send A Smile through Sarah is $15.
Allison and Alexis
These cards are hand-designed by Alexis Haft and Alison Hurwitz, seventh graders from Newport Beach, California. Alexis and Alison have a good friend with RSD and EDS, and wanted to help in some way.
These cards designed by kids to help other kids with pediatric pain. Each pack contains eight cards and two different designs. The needed donation to Send A Smile through Alexis and Alison is $15.
Send a Smile to someone you don’t know.
If you would like to donate to TCAPP’s Send A Smile program, TCAPP will also be sending gifts to some special children that we hear about throughout the year. Your donation is guaranteed to bring a smile to a hurting child.
